  1. Course objective (in terms of studying results and competencies).

Course objective – theoretical and practical students’ training with the view of organization of workers’ protection in national economy; learning of ways and methods of increase of organization and realization of other urgent activities in elimination of wrecks, catastrophes, the consequences of natural calamity and in the beaten zones connected with the influence of weapon of mass annihilation.

The actuality of teaching of “Civil Defence”and “Life Safety” courses is regulated by Statute of functional subsystem “Education and science of Ukraine” of the 17th of January 2002 № 27 in higher educational institutions of Ukraine and necessity to execute UNO’s conception “On constant human development”, and in accordance with Laws of Ukraine: “On law principles of civil defence” 1859-ІУ of the 24th of June 2004, “On civil defence of Ukraine” of the 3rd of February 1993 № 2974-ХІІ (with modifications and additions); “On defence of population and territories in emergency situations caused by technological activities of people and nature” of the 8th of June 2000 р. № 1809-ІИ; Statute “On unitary state system of prevention and reaction in emergency situations caused by technological activities of people and nature” that was confirmed by resolution of Cabinet of Ukraine of the 3rd of August 1998 № 1198, the order of Education Minister of Ukraine, Chief of Staff of civil defence of Ukraine “On teaching of “Civil Defence”and “Life Safety” courses” №182/200 of 20 June 1995, the order of Education Minister of Ukraine “On improvement of teaching of Labor Protection and Life Safety in higher educational institutions of Ukraine” №420 of the 2nd of December 1998.
