|
Course «History of world civilizations» is intended to acquaint students with the concept of «civilization» — a very deep, various and multidimensional. What is civilization? It’s a level of social development, material and spiritual culture, achieved by certain society in specific historical period. Different researchers interprete the term «civilization» in different ways: for instance, Oswald Spengler confronts civilization with culture, and in English words «culture» and «civilization »- are synonyms. History of humanity is history of the most various civilizations. A well-educated person must have knowledge of their typical features. The chronological limits of the course are maximum wide - from the beginning of human history till the ХХ century. The program is created on historical and chronological principle and include different types of civilizations. |

Teaching of this course must be based on all studied before disciplines which are included in the curriculum of training of historians in universities, foremost world history, archaeology, culturology. |
