  1. ^ Aim of the course (in terms of competence and results of study).

The aim of this course is to form cognitive (knowledge), operational (skills) and motivational components of readiness to provide different categories of clients with social service, of the future specialists.

Having acquired the course, students will be able to get knowledge about: theoretical bases of social work; the personality of a social worker as a professional; aims and tasks of social work as a practical activity; principles of social work; objects and subjects of social work; the history of development of social work, Ethic Code of a social worker, rights and duties of a social worker; the work of a social worker with different categories of families.

Also, students will be able to acquire the skills, which will allow them to use their theoretical knowledge in practice while having practical trainings; to mould their personal characteristic features, needed in social work; to follow the functions of a specialist in practical social work; to work with textbooks and manuals on the theory of social work; to use periodicals, concerning the work with different categories of clients; to study the publications, which contain normative legal source of a social worker.
