Petra News Agency (Иордания), 24.01.2011, Ambassador in Amman accept to develop his country’s relations with Jordan

Kazakhstan Ambassador in Amman assured Bulat Sarsenbayev that this year would be a "turning point" in relations between the two countries.

He expressed in an interview with (Petra) on Sunday his happiness to the participation of Jordan in the seventh Asian Winter Games which will take place in the country at the end of this month in which three players will compete in free skiing and snowboarding sport

"I was surprised from the participation of a Jordanian delegation in these games because there is no Winter in Jordan in literal sense of the word as for snow and ice, describing the participation , as a good for the kingdom".

These games that will last for two weeks will be held in the cities of Astana and Almaty, note that the Asian Winter Games, which began for the first time in 1951 organized every four years like the Olympics.

In response to a question about the relations between the two countries Sarsenbayev said that the work of embassies between the two countries began in 2007, pointing to the existence of a joint committee for cooperation between the two countries will hold its fourth meeting in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana this year, and it is a government commission, in addition to the existence of a joint business council of the private sector in both countries that was opened last year during the visit of Prime Minister Samir Rifai to Kazakhstan.

He attributed his optimism to the occurrence of this transformation for the existence of agreements in the fields of agriculture, medicine, uranium and energy that will be considered and to take a decision this year, adding that such agreements are good as a start, and "We should think about investing and not just trade."

He explained that a delegation from the company Kazatumbrom working in the field of uranium visited Jordan last November to study the topic of investment in energy, expecting that the results of the report of the visit will be positive.

Kazakhstan is the largest uranium producers in the world, and in the field of agriculture, it operates according to the Ambassador to provide the region with wheat and other grains, but the problem lies in the transport, which he hopes to overcome once the railway lines between his country and the port of Bandar Abbas, Iran's Persian Gulf will start to work through the first quarter of this year.

Kazakhstan built a wheat plant in Bandar Abbas and is considering building unparalleled in Aqaba, but this needs a visit of technical delegation to Aqaba to study the issue, noting that Kazakhstan is among the first six producers of grain in the world.

The ambassador revealed that revealed that his country plans to open a trade office in Amman as a part of the embassy, but is related to the Ministry of Economy to follow-up projects between the two countries.

He noted that his country opened last year in Amman the first Kazakh military Attaché in the region, pointing to the existence of a successful military technical cooperation between the two countries.

He said that the Defense Minister of Kazakhstan participated in the SOFEX , also a Jordanian delegation participated in the exhibition Kadquis similar to SOFEX which took place in Kazakhstan.

About the schemes of his country to host the conference of the Organization of the Islamic world this year, Sarsenbayev noted that the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Amman in cooperation with the Islamic World Academy of Sciences, based in Jordan took the initiative to organize a conference of Muslim scholars in the month of November in Astana, to gather the scientists of the Muslim world for consultation and exchange of views.
