Тема: “Welcome to Britain!”


Цели урока:

  • Практические: активизация монологической и диалогической речи учащихся; практика учащихся в чтении и аудировании с извлечением основной информации; отработка навыка спеллинга
  • Развивающие: развитие видов речевой деятельности: чтения, говорения, аудирования, письма; формирование интереса и повышение мотивации учащихся к изучению иностранного языка;
  • Воспитательные: развитие коммуникативных навыков и умений, развитие умения работать в команде, повышение социальной адаптации учащихся.


Оборудование:

Компьютер; проектор; интерактивная доска; раздаточный материал.


ХОД УРОКА.
  1. Организационный момент.


Teacher 1:

Good morning, dear friends! Today we have an unusual lesson. We will not only read, write, speak and listen. Today we are going to travel. Do you like travelling? Our trip will be virtual. We are going to visit London here and now!

So, welcome to London!

Our lesson is a competition, so we have assistants from 10th A grade. They will help to score your results.


Teacher 2:

We have four groups and we are going to have a team work. Let`s see how

good you are in team work. Introduce yourself.

Teacher 1:

Before we start our trip let`s train our tongues.

The first task is to repeat the tongue-twister. You` ll listen to it twice, then one person from each team have to read it as quickly as possible.

Asking the way – our next task. You will get the cues on cards. In 3 minutes you have to role-play the situations.

Teacher 2:

O.K. Now let`s work as guides. I have four cards in my hand. There is one famous place on each card. Captains, come to me and choose one of them. Then decide who will be a guide in your group. You have 2 minutes to discuss.

Let`s speak about London sights. This was your home task.

There are a lot of museums in London. They are very different. Read the brochure about London museums. What are the places in the text? Skim the text during 3 minutes.

One of the great museums in the world. There are famous exhibitions from ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece and other parts of the world.

Free entrance.

Madam Tussaud`s

This wax museum has an incredible collection. There are famous people from history from Napoleon to Winston Churchill, and modern celebrities from the worlds of sport, pop and films.

Open: 10 a.m. – 5.30 p.m. (Monday – Saturday).

Marylebone Street (Tube: Baker Street ).

Adults: ₤ 13.50; children: ₤ 10.00

The National Gallery

This has one of the really great collection of paintings in the world. Don`t miss it!

Open: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Monday – Saturday) and 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. (Sunday)

Trafalgar Square (Tube: Charing Cross). Free Entrance.

The Science museum

Thre are over 10,000 things to see in this fantastic museum. Take a virtual rocket ride around the solar system!

Open: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Monday – Saturday) and 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. (Sunday)

Exhibition Road (Tube: South Kensington). Free Entrance.

The National History Museum

The museum is in a beautiful old building and has interactive exhibitions. See “live” dinosaurs and learn about animal and plant life on our planet!

Open: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Monday – Saturday) and 12 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Sunday).

Cromwell Road (Tube: South Kensington). Free entrance.

a) Usually we send post- cards while travelling. But first we want to check your spelling. We need two pupils from each team.

b) In three days we`ll celebrate Mother`s Day. Unjumble these post cards and greet your mothers with the holiday.

7. Заключительный этап урока.


Teacher 1:

Our trip is over. I hope you enjoyed the lesson. Everybody worked very good. So you all get “5”. It is not easy to work in a group, but I think you can do it rather well. Our assistants are ready to say which team wins.
