Having studied S.F. Platonov's works, new archival documents, the author of this article has specified a number of unknown pages of the scientific biography of an outstanding Russian historian, he has studied his communications with scientific and regional organizations, bodies of national education and that of local management of European districts of Russia.

On the basis of studying the extensive literature for many years, the author draws a conclusion that in the second half of the XXth century and in the beginning of the XXIst century in a domestic historiography preconditions for qualitatively new research of the Russian public idea have appeared.

Having studied documents of the Russian state historical archives, the author draws a conclusion that the VIth division of Department of common causes often duplicated functions of the Department of police and provincial (city) divisions, making spending the control over the education system and registration of societies, and also supervising their activities and procedures of closing.

Having entered into scientific circulation the numerous documents stored in the State archives of the Russian Federation, the author does a conclusion that many kadets, especially representatives of the left wing of a party led by P.N. Milyukov opposed supports of hitlerite plans of an attack to Soviet Union.

Using documents of the State archives of the Russian Federation, the Central archives of FSB of the Russian Federation, some publications of 1920–1930ies, the authors do the important notice that the activity of «Country Russia» has stopped not in 1939 as it was considered before but in the middle of 1950ies.

On the basis of studying documents of the State archives of the Arkhangelsk district, and also the published sources and historiographies of the XIXth century – the beginning of the XXth century the author does a conclusion that three qualitatively different stages can be determined in the activity concerning public care and charity in the Arkhangelsk district from the end of the XVIIIth century up to the beginning of revolution 1917.

He considers the problem of influence of military science on fashion in clothes and affirms that the Russian military fashion was formed on the basis of loan of various styles of military clothes of neighbors.
