Perhaps the main event, awaited by the Palestinians, is the next session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, in the next September , and it seems that the Palestinian leadership put «all their eggs» in the basket of the General Assembly, betting on the possibility of United Nations recognition of an independent Palestinian state on 1967 borders , It seeks this goal and mobilize the international support for it, from the time the negotiations with the Israeli side reached a dead end, because of the careful Netanyahu government in its arrogance, and to continue the statue quo policy, »the expansion of settlements and Judaizing the Palestinian territories, especially Jerusalem» and refused the commitment to the international references for negotiations, As it became quite clear the bias of Obama administration along with Israel, as they had foiled the French initiative «symbolic» to hold an international conference so as to launch the negotiations, and shows the misery of all the speeches of Obama, and his promises to peace, which he granted according to it Nobel Prize for peace, before the world sees the results of his policy , in a historical precedent in the record of the Nobel!. The Obama's policy title is the failures, and frustration reached to his Special Envoy to the peace process George Mtechel who resigned a few months ago, after he realized that the process moves in a vicious circle!.

The way to international recognition of an independent Palestinian state with its capital Jerusalem, is not strewn with roses, and the process seems closer to «political risk« by the Palestinian leadership, and the issue is largely complex because of the procedure of acceptance of any new state in the international organization, which requires the recommendation of the Security Council international, to the General Assembly, which votes on the application, which requires two-thirds of the members.

The problem faced by Palestinians, not to mobilize two thirds of votes of States Members in the General Assembly, but the main obstacle in this way, is Washington's rejection of a Palestinian decision to go to the UN, to get recognition for an independent state, and Obama administration have informed the Palestinian side its position clearly, and threatened using the veto to thwart this endeavor, and as long as the result known in advance, the question posed by many: What is the point of going to the United Nations? And why does not search for other alternatives? such as a return to peaceful resistance and launch a third intifada, as Palestinian youth forces recently called on Face book, especially since the first step of the Palestinian reconciliation achieved by Cairo agreement signing !

There are other questions raised, even if the recognition of Palestinian state at the United Nations done , it remains state on paper, as long as Israel rejects that with the American support, and rejection of international resolutions and references is a consistent policy to Tel Aviv! Accordingly, there is a need for political papers as a pressure on the other side, and here I see that going to the United Nations, a useful step, regardless of the results previously known, it is at least an embarrassment to Washington and a moral pressure on it who sold the Arabs and Muslims a lot of talks with no practical stock in the foreign policy, and one of the opportunities that can benefit from is the holding of the 38th session of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Conference in the capital of Kazakhstan «Astana» later this month, which is the biggest gathering of allies of the Palestinians «organization comprising 56 countries» that is in advance of the meeting of the General Assembly in September, I think that the best resolution that can be issued by the Astana meeting, is sending a strong message to the international community for the necessity recognize the a membership of the state of Palestine at the United Nations, the meeting was preceded by two European and African rounds for the Secretary General of the Organization Ihsan oglu to mobilize the recognition of a Palestinian state.

No need to surrender to the U.S. disappointing position as the group of Islamic countries, has a lot of active papers , politically, diplomatically and economically, can be used to put pressure on Washington.

Karim Masimov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan today received Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs and his accompanying delegation on the sidelines of the Islamic Foreign Ministers Conference, which is being held in the Kazakhstani capital, Astana.

During the meeting, strong bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, issues of common concern and a number of major topics, as well as the latest developments at the Arab and international arenas were reviewed, in addition to the topics listed on the agenda.

Meanwhile, Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs also met with Ahmed Naseem, Maldives' Minister of Foreign Affairs on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the conference's meetings.

During the meeting, bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and issues of joint interest, as well as the latest regional and international developments were discussed.

The two meetings were attended by Salim bin Mohammed al Riyami, Head of the International Organizations Department, Said bin Ali al Amri, Charge d'affaires of the Sultanate's Embassy in Kazakhstan and members of the delegation accompanying the Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs.
