Subsidies on transportation are the mostwidespread. Each fifth or sixth household reported that in 1997-1998 itstransportation costs had been subsidized. In Komi Republic rent costs are alsohighly subsidized. The same practice exists but to lesser extent in VolgogradOblast. Subsidies to cover other costs are notably rare. With high financialcapacity of enterprise of Komi Republic there grows the number of subsidiesrecipients on food and medical care. Approximately each tenth household hasreported on that. Voronezh Oblast is characteristic of the lowest number ofrecipients of all types of assistance.
Together with the assistance coverage thesizes of subsidies received characterize the policy in that sphere. Thefollowing table demonstrates the sizes of subsidies and privileges across alltypes of social aid.
Vacation subsidies have been reported onvery few occasions however, the benefits received for these purposes were moresubstantial. Families with kids going to kindergartens have received sizeablesubsidies. Reported subsidies on food, transportation and housing are very low.
