Генералізований пародонтит і пародонтоз: маркери спадкової схильності, патогенетичні механізми метаболічних порушень та їх комплексна корекція

dedicated to the study of the role of a genetic factor in occurrence and development of periodontal diseases and its mechanisms of occurrence. A new concept of the role of a genetic factor, based on the study of genetic, metabolic and immune markers of these diseases, has been formulated: it plays a leading role in etiology and pathogenesis of parodontosis, whereas in those of generalized periodontitis it is the combination of both genetic and environmental factors.

The presence of metabolic disorders both on cellular level (based on changes in data of functional state of genome) and levels of tissues and organs (based on disorders of microelements metabolism and activity of various enzyme systems) in patients with parodontosis has been proved; the knowledge about their role in pathogenesis of generalized periodontitis has been made more profound. In occurrence and development of generalized periodontitis a certain role is also assigned to disturbance of antioxidant protection, development of endogenous intoxication syndrome and imbalance of cytokine system. New criteria for pre-clinical and clinical diagnostics and prognosis of development of generalized periodontitis and parodontosis and their differentiation have been worked out.

A new method of complex treatment of generalized periodontitis using vitamin-microelement preparation with multi-purpose actions – micro-alga „Spirulina”, which reduces the risk of occurrence of genetic predisposition to the disease, eliminates metabolic disorders, contributes to general recovery of patients and achievement of stable remission, has been developed, pathogenetically explained, and approved.
